Pancakes, Pancakes by Eric Carle is a fitting book for today and any day for that matter. Especially if like the main character Jack you wish to eat just pancakes! Carle is one of my all time favourite children’s book illustrators and together with ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ this is another title that will have you thinking about food. I have always loved the collage technique Carle uses to create his illustration, layering up his painted tissue papers not unlike pancakes on a plate!
