Perfect Too by Felicity Cloake is the follow up to her previous book Perfect and her popular How to make the Perfect… column in the Guardian. Felicity’s writing, approach and recipes are engaging and entertaining, with a tried, tested and trusted after taste. The hand written style of the titles and chapters appeals to my nostalgia for simplicity and suits the nature of the contents which feel like they’ve been written and digested with full thought and stomach. Her recipe and thoughts on how to make the perfect hot chocolate on page 329 is one of my favourites. The salt grinder illustration and addition of cinnamon make it in my mind and mug perfect to the end. ‘Subtle magic’ indeed Felicity!
