The Popina Book of Home Baking by Isodora Popovic is full of both sweet and savory artisan bakes accompanied by stunning photography. I often enjoy Popina’s organic baked goods at Broadway Market in Hackney and thanks to this recipe book I’m able to recreate some of the delicious cakes, tarts and pies when not in London. Her flavour combinations are as artful as the imagery in the book, a special mention must go to the smokey vegetable, butter bean and paprika filo strudel. Another of her strudel star recipes is her sweet poppy seed strudel which is a joy to both taste and look at. Whether you experience Popina’s baking via one of her weekly Farmers market stands or from making one of the recipes from scatch via this book, you will be in for one and hopefully a lot more unforgettable treats!
