My Chocolate Covered Peanut cake is just that, but not just covered but crammed full, both in and outside. Layers of chocolate and peanut cakes make up the tier using ground peanuts rather than almonds in the sponges to enhance the flavour and moistness levels. Sandwiched together with both peanut butter and my peanut butter ganache each slice is packed full of peanuts. Especially when decorated with yet more ganache and an assortment of chocolate covered and natural peanuts, both halved and whole. I actually created the cake to celebrate The Hambledon, a lovely shop in Winchester having a tea party to raise money for The Haven charity. My Peanut butter buttons were part of the baked goods being sold today following Mercy from the shop recreating them. Together with the event, creating the peanut pattern on top of my bake has inspired me to experiment with more variations of nut and chocolate combinations via the canvas of cake! I’ll be painting peanut shells next…
