These Festive Sandwiches may look like cheese and pickle but are in fact filled with marzipan and mincemeat. Panetonne takes the place of the traditional white sliced and before being cut into triangles were spread with brandy butter , topped with mincemeat and then grated marzipan which looked uncannily like cheese! From Christmas sandwiches through to a sweet ploughman’s, I’m thinking the addition of chocolate egg needs to be introduced to this plate this Easter. Pickled onions may or may not be added….
