My Flourless Chocolate and Beetroot Cake contains ground walnuts in place of flour, an ingredient which pairs perfectly with the beetroot. The addition of goats cheese in the cream cheese frosting also marries the traditional combination of ingredients found within a goats cheese, beetroot and walnut salad together in the unusual context of a cake. Finally my dried candied beetroot hearts add a decorative and unique finish to the cake and highlights the main ingredient in the bake. Through looking like rose petals, they also add a touch flowers to an otherwise flourless torte!
