My Veledrome Cake was made to mark both the brilliance of the GB team at the Olympics and a cyclist enthusiasts extra special birthday. Ginger cake made up the baking structure which I then covered in a vanilla buttercream to cement the varying shades of ginger biscuit tiles to. Colourful mini chocolate candies and toffees created the appearance of the spectators and I replicated the Siberian pine tracks surface by incorporating swirls of chocolate ganache into the buttercream on the cakes surface.
