The Trifle Bowl by Lindsey Bareham is a cook book whose pages are layered up with not only seasonal recipes but the utensils that go into creating them. The descriptions and design history of the objects and gadgets that Lindsay and many of use use when cooking make the book informative as well as inspirational when paired with the recipes featured. From Lindsay’s grandmas raspberry jelly trifle to her honey and apple granola it is the food writers prose paired with the distinct and impactful illustrative design of the book that make it a welcome addition to any food lovers collection. The photographs of her kitchen had me craving her store cupboard crockery and pots and pans as much as the recipe for her store cupboard banoffee pies!
