My Cut Out Christening cake was made for my good friend Louise’s niece’s christening tomorrow. Louise designed Matilda and Eliza’s christening invitation and I adapted the invite’s paper cut out design onto the cake with fondant icing and a scalpel. The cake itself was a light lemon sponge covered in orange butter cream, sandwiched together with raspberry jam to sit back with the colour of the fondant design when sliced. Baking, designing and decorating with the help of a friend made this cake all the more special for the occasion itself.
