I first came across these Friendship Birds by Cox & Cox many years ago when I bought them for a very close friend and still treasure the one I got to keep today. They come delivered in a tin and the idea is that you keep one and give the other to a friend. They’re a lovely size and small enough to hold in the palm of your hand or nest somewhere in the home. Mine tends to sit itself amongst books, candles and pots of buttons on my shelf. Last summer however it flew the nest and shelf as it took a temporary vacation to a marquee in Somerset. My music puff pastry music selection were inspired by the French singer Edith Piaf and seeing as Piaf means small bird, I thought it fitting to sit the friendship bird amongst the pastries, with the crumbs acting as breadcrumbs on a Parisian street.
